You’ve used your library card to check out useful books or movies before, why not use your library card to check out a new skill. Gale courses offer learning, anytime and anywhere. These free college level courses are completely online and can be taken almost entirely at your own pace. Expert instructors develop and lead every course; you also have the opportunity to interact with the instructors as well as fellow students in the discussion area. This is an excellent feature, where you can choose your level of participation while also receiving the individual attention that you may desire.  After passing the courses you will receive a certificate or letter of completion proving that you have completed the course.

Understanding common computer applications such as Microsoft programs like Word or Excel will open a wide variety of doors for you. These are basic skills employers are searching for, to fill a wide variety of positions. Gale courses also offer more job specific programs like Adobe Photoshop or Quickbooks . There are over 250 full length courses to choose from in fields ranging from business and accounting to design, arts, music and writing to health care and education.
